It is made in the Tokyo style and the recessed brass panel handles depict the flowers with a waxing crescent moon. Mizuya were usually used in the kitchen for food and crockery storage. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAll the ironwork is original. The iron drawer pulls (\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003ehikite\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e) on the front are leech (\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003ehirute\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e) shaped which was a classic shape used during the Meiji period. This tansu is constructed in two parts with locator pins to keep the top in place.
