The timber was widely used by craftsmen in Jiangsu, a region celebrated for producing refined and well-proportioned hardwood furniture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOriginally, many flower stands from this region were finished with a \u003cstrong\u003edeep burgundy lacquer\u003c\/strong\u003e, and traces of this original lacquer can still be seen on this example. The stand features a \u003cstrong\u003esmall drawer beneath the top\u003c\/strong\u003e, as well as a finely executed \u003cstrong\u003eraised tray edge\u003c\/strong\u003e, a subtle yet technically demanding detail designed to prevent water from spilling when displaying plants or vases.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the base is a beautifully crafted \u003cstrong\u003e“cracked ice” lattice shelf\u003c\/strong\u003e, a decorative feature often regarded as a sign of quality craftsmanship.
