Carved Stone Water Pot Stand (Parinda) - 19th Century

This impressive stone sculpture is an Indian water pot stand known locally in Gujarat as a parinda. These water pot stands would have been a focal point in any village or town. The design is such that any condensation on the clay pots drains onto a drip tray and through a spout at the front.

Indian parindas really spice up an English garden and are great pot stands for planters.
