This sunbleached roheda wood Indian shutter is from the Bikaner region of Rajasthan. Dating from the 19th century, this piece would once have been brightly painted as was the style in Bikaner. However, it has been bleached a pleasing pale yellow by years of Thar desert sun. This would look beautiful hung on a wall.
