Brass & Iron Bound Chest On Wheels From Gujarat - 19th Century

This antique iron-bound chest dates to the 19th century and comes from Gujarat, India. Constructed from solid teak, it is reinforced with substantial iron strapping and retains a rich, well-aged surface and patina.

The interior provides a generous storage space and retains its original fitted candle box. The base of the candle box slides away to reveal access to a concealed lower compartment. The chest is mounted on four wooden wheels, making it easier to move and particularly practical as a side table, storage chest or small coffee table.
