Brass Bound Teak Chest From India - 19thC

Chests and boxes from India are found in an extraordinary variety of styles reflecting the many cultures that influenced India.
They were usually made from Teak, Rosewood or Jackfruit wood and were used for storing valuables such as textiles, jewellery and cash.
Our pieces are mostly from the 19th century & occasionally 18th and early 20th century. This one comes with attractive brass hasp and handles as well as two useful drawers.
