This large lacquered Chinese chest would have been used for storing clothing and bedding. Lacquered with a classic burgundy lacquer, it's central brass plate and squared handles are indicative of this being an early piece, likely early 19th century.
Although this is sold with a stand, it is detachable and could be used as a dramatic coffee table. Perfect for storing bedding, pillows, clothing and towels.
