Painted Indian Door From Rajasthan - Mid 18thC

This truly exquisite cinnabar painted door is from the northern area of Rajasthan, most likely the towns of Bikaner or Jodhpur. The style of painting is incredibly detailed and is in the Mughal style depicting flowers and two Indian princes or noblemen. This door had been repainted with modern cream paint and it wasn't until we stripped it off that we found this incredible painting underneath. This would make a beautiful piece of wall art and although we have dated this as from the mid 18^th century, it could well be far older.
