Painted Wall Cabinet From Gujarat - Ca 1940's

This charming vintage Indian glazed wall cabinet dates to around the 1940s and originates from Gujarat. Constructed from wood and finished in beautifully weathered green paint, the cabinet has developed a richly textured surface through decades of use, revealing layers of colour and natural wear that give it tremendous character.

The front features a glazed door allowing the contents to be displayed while remaining protected. The decorative gold lettering on the glass — reading “Ice Cream, Fancy Cake & All Kinds Of Soft Drinks” — is a later addition that lends the piece a playful retro shopfront feel. Inside, the cabinet contains two shelves providing useful storage space for everyday items.
